Seventy-three university students were randomly assigned to Select Readings Group (SRG, n = 37) and value-based reading group (VRG, n = 36). Participants were assessed through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires in terms of their attitudes towards values and awareness of etiquette, prior and successive to the treatment. The instructional materials used for the experimental group were reading comprehension passages based on human values, and passages with etiquette topics. The results of two-way ANCOVA showed a significant difference between SRG and VRG in terms of their attitudes towards values and awareness of etiquette. Furthermore, gender was found not to have a significant effect on the treatment results. The results also confirmed an increase in learners’ interest in etiquette and value-based topics in reading comprehension courses. Findings are discussed in relation to the incorporation of values in the contents of English textbooks and EFL classrooms to enhance positive attitudes towards values. مطالعه حاضر تأثیر آموزش خواندن مبتنی بر ارزش را بر نگرش زبان آموزان زبان انگلیسی نسبت به ارزش ها و آداب اجتماعی انسانی بررسی کرد. هفتاد و سه دانشجو به طور تصادفی در گروه Readings Select (SRG، و گروه خواندن مبتنی بر ارزش (VRG) قرار گرفتند. شرکت کنندگان از طریق مصاحبه های نیمه ساختاریافته و پرسشنامه از نظر نگرش نسبت به ارزش ها و آگاهی از آداب، قبل و بعد از درمان ارزیابی شدند. مواد آموزشی مورد استفاده برای گروه آزمایش عبارت بود از متن های خواندنی بر اساس ارزش های انسانی و متن هایی با موضوعات آداب. نتایج تحلیل کوواریانس دو طرفه تفاوت معنی داری را بین SRG و VRG از نظر نگرش نسبت به ارزش ها و آگاهی از آداب نشان داد. علاوه بر این، جنسیت تأثیر معنی‌داری بر نتایج درمان نداشت. نتایج همچنین افزایش علاقه یادگیرندگان به آداب معاشرت و مباحث ارزشی در دوره های درک مطلب را تایید کرد. یافته‌ها در رابطه با گنجاندن ارزش‌ها در محتوای کتاب‌های درسی انگلیسی و کلاس‌های درس زبان انگلیسی برای تقویت نگرش مثبت نسبت به ارزش‌ها مورد بحث قرار می‌گیرند. https://www.teljournal.org/article_160902_ad790931d6674272ef8c538df2097ead.pdf
